Club Point System

Open WBA Points

One point will be awarded for every five birds beaten when attaining the titles of Best Variety, Reserve Variety, Best of Breed, Reserve of Breed, Best Overall Wyandotte, and Reserve Overall.

  • Ex: 19 blue bantams, BV and RV receives 3 points
  • A White then wins BB out of 62 birds and receives 12 points, and the RB black also receives 13.
  • A Silver Laced Large fowl wins Best Overall out of 81 and receives 16 points, as does the Reserve Overall bantam white.

Points will always be rounded down to whole number, never up.

Each bird will only be given one set of points, the highest win, the points will not stack on top of another.

  • Ex: For the mentioned Large Fowl Silver Laced, the bird only receives points for the Best Overall and for BB and BV

At the two WBA Nationals, an extra 5 points will be awarded to the Best Overall.

  • 4 to the Reserve
  • 3 to the Third Overall
  • 2 to the Fourth Overall
  • 1 to the Fifth Overall

At each District WBA meet, an extra 3 points will be awarded to the Best Overall, as well as a respective two to the Reserve.

There is no limit to how many point-receiving birds a WBA member can have at a show.

The points accumulated will go towards various tiers of Master Breeder Status.

Master Breeders Status can only be attained when the goal is met in no less than 5 years with no lapse in membership, in one variety and size.

  • Bronze Master Breeder – 100 points
  • Silver Master Breeder – 250 points
  • Gold Master Breeder – 500 points
  • Platinum Master Breeder – 1,000 points

The points will also be used to determine the WBA Member of the Year in each Variety and the breed as a whole.

The Varieties that points can be accumulated for are any APA or ABA expected Varieties.

If there is a lapse in membership, any previously acquired points will be archived until the lapsed years of membership are paid off.

  • Ex: Member who has received 90 points in bantam Colombians does not renew their membership for 6 years, after which they decide to come back to the WBA and want to resume their point status. So they pay $60 to the club for the lapsed years and then $10 more for their current year. They have now resumed their point status and only need 10 more for Bronze Master Breeder.

After 15 years of lapsed membership, the archived points will be discarded.

All Master Breeders will forever have their title recorded in the WBA records.

The said recorded titles will only be the highest title attained by the member in that variety and size.

A junior aged member is also eligible to earn Open points if they pay for an open membership and show in the open show.

Open points are only given to WBA members at WBA sanctioned meets in the open shows.

Junior WBA Points

The Junior point system is the exact same as the open, EXCEPT for the following:

A junior bird receives one point for every three birds beaten.

  • Ex: 19 black bantams, BV and RV receive 6 points, 34 bantams total, so BB and RB receive 11 points, and overall, there are 41, so the overalls both receive 13 points.

Juniors will gather points to attain the following titles:

  • Bronze JR Master Breeder – 75 points
  • Silver JR Master Breeder – 150 points
  • Gold JR Master Breeder – 300 points

Junior points are only given to WBA Junior members at WBA sanctioned shows in the junior show.

Junior points are not transferable to open points.

Juniors can receive both Junior and Open points if they choose to meet the requirements of both.
